Version 1.0 · Effective 19 October 2026
Terms of service
These Terms are the agreement between you and Coquet for using the Coquet app, Coquet Pro and Coquet Studio. They are also our terms for providing services electronically under Polish law (regulamin świadczenia usług drogą elektroniczną).
In short
- Coquet helps you learn, plan and track pole training. It is not an instructor, a spotter or medical advice. Pole training carries a real risk of injury; please read section 6.
- The basic app is free. Coquet Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold and billed by Apple; you cancel it and ask for refunds through Apple.
- Video analysis runs on your phone, can be wrong, and your videos are not uploaded.
- Instructors who use Coquet Studio are responsible for their own classes.
- If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away your statutory rights.
1. Who provides Coquet
Coquet is provided by Patrycja Rychlik-Widera, running a sole proprietorship (jednoosobowa działalność gospodarcza) registered in the Polish Central Register and Information on Business (CEIDG), NIP 6263025822, business address ul. Sokolska 30a, 40-086 Katowice, Poland (“Coquet”, “we”, “us”).
- Support, complaints and our single point of contact for users and authorities under the EU Digital Services Act: [email protected]. You can write to us in English or Polish.
- Privacy: [email protected]. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
2. Definitions
- App: the Coquet mobile application for iPhone.
- Studio web: the Coquet Studio web application for instructors.
- Service: the App, Studio web and the features we provide through them, including Coquet Pro and Coquet Studio.
- User or you: a person who uses the Service.
- Consumer: a user who is a natural person using the Service for purposes unrelated to their business or profession. Where these Terms give rights to consumers, they also apply to a sole trader using the Service for a purpose that isn't professional in nature for them, as Polish law provides.
- Instructor and Student: users who run or join a class group in Coquet Studio.
- Your Content: anything you add to the Service (section 10).
3. What Coquet offers
Coquet is an educational and training-planning tool for pole dance and pole fitness. Through the Service we provide:
- a user account that stores and syncs your data;
- a library of moves, combos, exercises, conditioning routines and programs, with cues, safety notes and demo videos;
- a training log with goals, collections, streaks, progress and recaps, and local reminders;
- video analysis of training clips you choose, done on your phone (section 7);
- Coquet Studio, which lets instructors run class groups and students join them (section 9);
- Coquet Pro, a paid subscription with additional features (section 8).
Apart from Coquet Pro, the Service is free. The agreement for the free Service is concluded when you create an account and lasts indefinitely, until you or we end it (section 5).
4. Technical requirements and risks
- App: an iPhone with iOS 15.1 or later, an internet connection for sign-in, sync, Coquet Studio and demo videos, and an Apple ID for purchases. Video analysis needs access to your photo library, which you grant in iOS.
- Studio web: an up-to-date version of Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge with JavaScript enabled.
- An active email address or Apple ID for your account.
Using any online service carries risks, such as malware, phishing, attempts to take over accounts or interception of data on unsecured networks. Use a strong, unique password, keep your device's software up to date, and be wary of messages asking for your login details. We will never ask for your password.
5. Your account
- Age: you must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You can sign up with email and password or with Sign in with Apple. Give accurate information, keep your login secure and don't share your account. One account per person.
- Ending the agreement yourself: you can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the App under Profile → Delete account, or by writing to us. What happens to your data is described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the App or your account doesn't cancel a Coquet Pro subscription; cancel it with Apple (section 8).
- Ending it by us: we may end the agreement for the free Service with 30 days' notice for an important reason, such as discontinuing the Service. We may suspend or close an account immediately if it is used in serious or repeated breach of these Terms or the law, for example to post illegal content or attack the Service. We will tell you our reasons and how to challenge the decision (section 11), unless the law prevents us.
6. Health and safety
Coquet is not a medical device and doesn't give medical, physiotherapy or rehabilitation advice. It doesn't diagnose, monitor or treat any injury or condition. The pain or injury flag, gentler alternatives and “ready to try” labels are simple records and general suggestions based only on what you tell the App. They don't know your real strength, flexibility or technique. Coquet is also not a substitute for a qualified, in-person instructor or a spotter.
Pole dance involves inherent risks, including falls, strains, sprains, friction burns, fractures and head, neck and spine injuries. Inverts, drops, releases and advanced moves carry the highest risk. When you train with Coquet you agree to:
- use a pole installed to the manufacturer's instructions and check it is secure before every session;
- train on a suitable surface with enough space, and use a crash mat for anything inverted or off the floor;
- warm up first, follow each move's prerequisites and safety notes, and not attempt moves beyond your current ability;
- learn your first inverts, drops and releases with a qualified instructor or a competent spotter present;
- stop at once if you feel sharp pain, dizziness or anything unusual, and see a doctor if you have an injury or medical condition, or are pregnant or postpartum, before training.
Read our Safety policy too. If you spot a mistake or an unsafe cue in our content, tell us at [email protected] and we will review it promptly. This section doesn't limit our liability where the law doesn't allow it (section 14).
7. Video analysis
- Analysis runs on your phone. Your videos and clips are not uploaded to us; we store only the derived data described in the Privacy Policy.
- Attempt detection and move suggestions are automatic and can be wrong. They are not an assessment of your technique, form or safety. You decide what each clip shows.
- Only analyse videos you have the right to use, and get permission from anyone else who appears in them.
8. Coquet Pro subscriptions
- What you get: Coquet Pro unlocks additional features, such as week-by-week programs and additional demo videos. The features, price and billing period are shown on the subscription screen in the App before you buy.
- Sold by Apple: Coquet Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple is the seller and processes the payment under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions; the price includes applicable taxes.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, and your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before the period ends, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Free trials: if an offer includes a free trial, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Cancelling: in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or from the App's Profile screen. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Price changes: Apple notifies you before a price change, and where the law or Apple's rules require it, a price increase only applies after you agree to it.
- Refunds and withdrawal: because Apple sells the subscription, refund requests and the consumer's 14-day right of withdrawal are handled by Apple under Apple's terms, at reportaproblem.apple.com. This doesn't limit your rights under section 13 if the Service doesn't conform to the contract.
- Restoring purchases: on a new device, use “Restore purchases” in the App with the same Apple ID.
9. Coquet Studio
Coquet Studio lets an instructor create class groups, invite students with a code or link, plan and share lessons, record attendance and progress, and lets students see their classes and tell the instructor they will be late or absent. Coquet Studio is currently free.
Coquet is not a party to your classes. Any arrangement between an instructor or studio and a student, including bookings, fees, cancellations, instruction, supervision and safety in class, is solely between them. We don't employ, vet, certify or endorse instructors and don't check their qualifications or insurance.
If you are an instructor, you:
- are responsible for your classes, your instruction and your students' safety, and hold any qualifications, insurance and permissions your activity requires;
- will only invite people aged 16 or over;
- will use what you see about students (names, attendance, progress, notes) only to run your classes, keep it accurate and respectful, and comply with data-protection law; for that use you act as an independent controller of your students' data;
- are responsible for the links and content you share, and will remove a student from a group when they ask.
Students can leave a group at any time; instructors can remove students. After that, the student loses access to the group's lessons.
10. Your content and acceptable use
Your Content includes your training log, notes, goals, collections, combos, video tags, proposed move names, instructor profile, group and lesson details, links, attendance and progress marks, and late or absence notes. You keep all rights in it. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you and to the people you share it with (for example, showing a lesson plan to the students of that group). The licence ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service. If you propose a new move name, you agree we may review, edit and add it to the shared move list for all users, without attribution.
You must not use the Service to:
- provide content that is unlawful, including content that infringes others' rights, privacy or image, or is hateful, harassing, violent, or sexual content involving minors;
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent your qualifications;
- send spam or malicious links or software;
- collect other users' data without their permission;
- scrape, overload, probe or bypass the security or paid-access controls of the Service, or reverse-engineer the App except where the law allows.
11. Reporting illegal content and our decisions
If you believe content in Coquet is illegal or breaks these Terms, write to [email protected]. Explain why you think it is illegal, say exactly where it is (for example the group name and the instructor), and give your name and email, except for reports of child sexual abuse material. We confirm receipt, review reports diligently, objectively and without undue delay, and tell you what we decided.
We don't monitor content in advance. We may remove or disable content, restrict features, or suspend or close accounts that break the law or these Terms, by human review. If we restrict your content or account, we tell you the reasons and how to challenge the decision: reply to our message or write to [email protected] and we will review it again. You can also use any out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the Digital Services Act, or go to court.
12. Our content and your licence
The App's software, the Coquet name and logo, and our move descriptions, cues, safety notes, programs, illustrations, photos and demo videos belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules, for your personal use; instructors may also use Coquet Studio to run their classes. You may not copy, redistribute, sell or scrape our content. The App can show third-party content, such as TikTok clips or links shared by instructors; that content is provided under the third party's terms and we are not responsible for it.
13. Conformity and complaints
We must provide the Service in conformity with the contract, including the updates, security updates among them, needed to keep it in conformity. If you are a consumer and the Service doesn't conform to the contract, you have the rights given by the Polish Consumer Rights Act (ustawa o prawach konsumenta) for digital content and services: to have it brought into conformity and, if that isn't possible or we fail, to a price reduction or to withdraw from the contract.
You can complain about the Service by email to [email protected] or by post to the address in section 1. Please describe the problem, when it happened and what you would like us to do, and include your account email. We reply within 14 days of receiving your complaint, by email unless you ask otherwise. Complaints about payments and billing for Coquet Pro should also be raised with Apple (section 8).
If you are a consumer, you can also use out-of-court ways of resolving complaints, for example the help of your municipal or district consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów), the Provincial Inspectorate of Trade Inspection (Wojewódzki Inspektorat Inspekcji Handlowej) or a consumer organisation. Information is available at prawakonsumenta.uokik.gov.pl.
14. Liability
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our fault, for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that can't be excluded by law, nor your statutory rights as a consumer.
- For consumers, we are liable for loss caused by our breach of these Terms under the general rules of law.
- For users who are not consumers, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits or indirect loss, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Coquet Pro in the 12 months before the claim arose.
- Subject to the first point, we are not responsible for the conduct of instructors, students or other users, for classes run through Coquet Studio, for third-party content, or for injuries resulting from not following section 6.
- Much of the App works offline, but we can't guarantee the Service will always be available; it may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. We try to keep interruptions short.
15. Changes to the service and these Terms
We may update the Service, for example to fix problems, improve or change features, keep it secure, or follow changes in the law or Apple's rules, at no extra cost to you. If a change significantly and negatively affects your access to or use of a feature you pay for, we will tell you in advance, and as a consumer you may end the contract free of charge within 30 days of the change.
We may change these Terms for important reasons: changes in the law, in the Service or its features, in our providers, or for security. We will notify you in the App or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect, unless the law or a security risk requires a shorter time. If you don't agree, you can end the agreement before that date by deleting your account and cancelling Coquet Pro. Changes don't affect a Coquet Pro period you have already paid for.
16. App Store terms
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, these terms also apply:
- These Terms are between you and Coquet only, not Apple Inc. (“Apple”). Coquet, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Your licence is limited to using the App on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that it may be used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing.
- Coquet is solely responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
- Coquet is solely responsible for any product warranties not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
- Coquet, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual-property rights, Coquet, not Apple, is solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Questions, complaints or claims about the App go to Coquet at the contact details in section 1.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms, such as your mobile data agreement, when using the App.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country. Disputes are resolved by the competent common courts. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where they live; for other users, the court with jurisdiction over our business address is competent. Before going to court, please write to us so we can try to resolve the matter.
18. Final provisions
- These Terms are available in English and Polish, free of charge, at coquet.app, in a form you can save and print. Both versions have the same content. If they differ, the Polish version prevails, without affecting the mandatory rights of consumers.
- If a court finds part of these Terms invalid, the rest stays in force. If we don't enforce a right immediately, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer the agreement to another business that takes over the Service, without reducing your rights as a consumer; we will tell you if this happens. You may not transfer your account.
- These Terms take effect on 19 October 2026.
